Zeno is now available in Germany. We’re bringing the tool that thousands of Dutch lawyers and law firms already rely on to the German legal profession.
German legal sources are now available in Zeno, and our contractual safeguards and controls are aligned with the requirements of § 43e BRAO, Germany’s Federal Lawyers’ Act.
Built with German lawyers
This launch follows months of work with German lawyers, drawing on their years of experience to understand the nuances of the law and the demands of their work. Their input shapes how Zeno connects research, matter documents and drafting, with professional obligations and the lawyer’s judgement built into the workflow.
Legal AI that stands up to review
A convincing answer is only the start. Does the cited judgment support the conclusion? Is the context of the matter integrated? Have conflicting authorities and assumptions been considered? These checks determine whether an initial assessment can become advice a client can rely on.
We judge legal AI by how readily its work can be checked and used.
Grounded in a Legal Knowledge Graph
Zeno’s legal knowledge graph maps relationships between legislation, case law and explanatory material. For each legal question, it traces relevant sources and brings together the legal context, connecting material that might otherwise be considered separately.
You can follow the cited authorities and relevant passages, assess whether they support the reasoning, and decide how they apply to the client’s circumstances.
Confidential and Secure
Working with client documents requires technical protection, contractual obligations, access controls and clear arrangements with service providers. Zeno’s approach includes EU data storage, encryption in transit and at rest, technical separation of firms’ data, and no use of client data to train our models.
These address different risks: encryption protects information in storage and transmission; separation restricts access across firms; data-use limits define permitted processing.

What § 43e BRAO means in practice
Zeno’s BRAO compliance provides the contractual and procedural safeguards required for German lawyers to engage an external service provider: a confidentiality agreement in text form, access limited to what the service requires, and corresponding confidentiality obligations for subprocessors.
These commitments support the use of Zeno in confidential legal work. Client data is used only to deliver the agreed service, never to train AI models. Professional responsibility remains with you.
